Check out the date on this autograph: July 17, 1966. This was the day of the final performance of "It's a Bird It's a Plane It's Superman©"! In other words, this may have been the very last autograph Bob Holiday gave during his reign as Broadway’s first Superman.

Purchased on Ebay in 2016, this autograph was obtained from a collector who had purchased items from the estate of the late John P. Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was lover of theater and avid collector of theatrical and movie photos, Playbills and autographs. Mention was made that Mr. Sullivan was quite resourceful in acquiring his treasures. Did he perhaps stand outside the stage door, waiting for Bob Holiday to emerge and grant him this final autograph?

July 17, 1966 was a Sunday, so there was probably a matinee. There may also have been an evening performance. While we don’t know for sure whether or not this was Bob's very last Broadway autograph, it’s certainly fun to imagine that it might be!
